Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Resilience Framework

Southern Charity Foundation (SCF) has developed a comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Resilience Framework in response to the growing frequency of natural disasters in Bangladesh. The country has faced severe flooding in recent years, particularly in regions like Sylhet, Chittagong, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barisal. These areas have experienced unprecedented flash floods and extreme weather events, which have devastated communities, homes, and livelihoods. In light of these challenges, SCF’s Rapid Flood Relief Initiative provides immediate relief by delivering essential supplies such as food, water, and medical aid to affected populations. Beyond emergency response, this initiative also focuses on strengthening resilience in flood-prone areas by developing long-term strategies to address the growing impact of climate change.

Additionally, since 2017, SCF has been deeply committed to supporting Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. This vulnerable population, fleeing violence and persecution in Myanmar, has faced extreme hardships in refugee camps. SCF provides essential humanitarian aid, including food distribution, medical services, emergency shelter, and necessary household items, ensuring that refugees have access to basic needs and support. SCF’s efforts in collaboration with local and international partners demonstrate their commitment to assisting these marginalized communities in both the short and long term. To date, SCF’s Rohingya support program has benefited 153,746 individuals, helping them rebuild their lives and contributing to the stability and security of the refugee community.

Through these humanitarian initiatives, SCF continues to play a pivotal role in disaster response and resilience building, addressing both immediate needs and promoting long-term solutions for vulnerable populations.

The Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Resilience Framework, implemented by the Southern Charity Foundation, aims to support individuals affected by floods and other crises. The initiative provides food and essential supplies at no cost to help 500,000 individuals recover and ensure their immediate needs are met.
