Transportation Support Initiative: Van & Rickshaw Distribution
In Bangladesh, rickshaws and vans serve as vital modes of transportation, particularly for economically disadvantaged individuals. These vehicles represent a unique opportunity for income generation, as their operation does not require the payment of income tax or formal registration, making them accessible livelihood options for the poor.
To support these vulnerable populations, the Southern Charity Foundation (SCF) has successfully distributed 117 rickshaws and 64 vans to extremely impoverished families. This initiative is designed to empower individuals by providing them with reliable means of income generation. To ensure the sustainability of this program, SCF conducts regular monitoring to prevent the sale of these vehicles, thereby protecting the beneficiaries’ livelihoods.
As a result of this initiative, 1,810 individuals have benefited, gaining not only economic stability but also the ability to support their families and contribute to their communities. SCF’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the most vulnerable remains steadfast, as it provides the necessary tools for self-sufficiency and empowerment in their daily lives.
