Disaster Relief Housing for Cyclone-Affected Communities

In Bangladesh, coastal regions frequently suffer from severe cyclones, leading to significant loss of homes and livelihoods. The impacts of climate change—such as salinity intrusion, rising sea levels, and prolonged flooding—further exacerbate the vulnerability of these communities. In response to these challenges, the Southern Charity Foundation (SCF) has initiated proactive interventions to support affected populations.

To date, SCF has constructed 185 Disaster Relief Housing units specifically designed for individuals displaced by cyclones, often referred to as climate refugees. These shelters provide safe and secure living conditions, facilitating recovery and stability for those who have lost their homes due to natural disasters.

SCF’s commitment to supporting cyclone-affected communities demonstrates its dedication to enhancing resilience against climate change and natural calamities. By providing essential shelter and support, SCF aims to empower displaced individuals to rebuild their lives and thrive despite ongoing challenges.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to address climate change impacts and promote sustainable development in vulnerable regions, ensuring that communities can adapt and recover effectively in the face of adversity.
