Livestock Distribution for Sustainable Agriculture

Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s economy, contributing 12% to the GDP and engaging 65% of the rural population in farming and agricultural activities. However, the devastating impacts of climate change and the growing number of climate refugees have displaced countless farmers, leaving many without land and forcing them to seek refuge on khas land (government-owned property). These vulnerable communities often struggle to rebuild their livelihoods and achieve financial stability.

To address these challenges, the Southern Charity Foundation (SCF) has launched the Livestock Distribution for Sustainable Agriculture Program, a transformative initiative designed to empower displaced farmers and foster resilience. Through this program, SCF has already distributed 50 cows and goats across 50 small rural communities, directly benefiting over 250 individuals.

By providing livestock, SCF equips families with a sustainable source of income while promoting long-term economic independence. This initiative strengthens community resilience against the socio-economic and environmental impacts of climate change, helping vulnerable families achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

With its focus on sustainable agriculture and empowering families, SCF is committed to creating lasting change for communities most affected by climate change. Learn how SCF is making a difference and how you can support this impactful mission today!
