Policy Advocacy for Sustainable Change
SCF Policy Advocacy for Sustainable Change is committed to fostering social equity, empowering vulnerable groups, and promoting gender-sensitive and inclusive development across various sectors. This comprehensive advocacy program encompasses several key initiatives, each designed to create long-lasting social impact:
- Gender Equality and Empowerment Initiative
SCF actively advocates for the protection and empowerment of women and girls, particularly through addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Central to this effort is the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy, which ensures a safe and abuse-free environment for all. This policy applies to all SCF personnel, emphasizing shared responsibility for safeguarding, and is grounded in the organization’s Code of Conduct, which outlines ethical standards to prevent exploitation and abuse.
SCF also advances gender mainstreaming by integrating gender sensitivity into all programs, ensuring equitable participation and benefits for both men and women in the communities served.
- Youth Empowerment and Skills Development Program
Recognizing the significant role of youth in national development, SCF focuses on empowering young individuals through its Youth Empowerment and Skills Development Program. This initiative equips youth with leadership skills, professional training, and volunteer opportunities, fostering a generation of socially responsible leaders actively engaged in community and national development efforts.
- Women and Adolescent Empowerment
SCF prioritizes the social and economic empowerment of women and adolescent girls, providing them with the tools and opportunities necessary for personal and professional growth. Through targeted interventions, this initiative enhances gender equality, ensuring women and girls’ active participation in community development, contributing to an inclusive and just society.
- Disability Inclusion and Rights Advocacy Program
SCF is deeply committed to promoting the inclusion and empowerment of individuals with disabilities, a group representing around 10% of Bangladesh’s population. SCF ensures that at least 10% of participants in all its programs are people with disabilities, and 3% of its workforce is dedicated to hiring persons with disabilities. SCF’s facilities are also designed to be fully accessible. By 2028, SCF aims to empower 5,000 individuals with disabilities, ensuring their full participation in society and development.
Through these strategic initiatives, Southern Charity Foundation (SCF) drives sustainable, inclusive growth, ensuring that vulnerable and marginalized groups are at the forefront of social progress.
